Remodelled Heirloom

The Sisters through and through gold cluster rings

These rings were created to give new life to a collection of deeply sentimental, inherited jewellery that had been sitting unworn for many years.

Clare came to me with the beautiful idea of transforming these pieces into two gold rings (one for her and one for her sister), each holding a part of their family story.

We carefully unpicked the original pieces, assessing and preserving the gemstones and gold, before melting and reforming what was needed to create two new designs. Inspired by a previous organic halo-style ring in my collection, we developed a pair of complementary (but not identical) cluster rings, designed to feel individual yet intrinsically connected.

Using the ancient technique of granulation, I built up soft, organic textures in gold- creating a design that feels almost like tiny treasures gathered together. The original diamonds and gemstones were then set into these forms, bringing the past into a new, wearable piece.

There’s something quietly magical about these rings, reminiscent of discovering small treasures in a rockpool, and the open circle design carries a gentle sense of continuity, protection and enduring connection.

Working closely together, we refined every detail to ensure both rings felt just right for each sister. The result is a pair of pieces that hold not only beautiful materials, but shared history, memory, and love.
